Our values

The Northwood difference

These principles guide how we work and how we treat each other.

Active listening

You can trace almost all the improvements we’ve made to our CNC machines back to a specific customer request. That’s because we listen to what you need and we do our best to make it happen.

Proven engineering

Across product lines, we’ve standardized as many components as possible and only use the most reliable suppliers. It makes maintenance easier, it makes replacing parts easier and it makes our customers’ lives easier.

Honest and upfront support

Our PO is all-inclusive. Our lifetime phone support is included. Our warranty is backed by the best team in the industry. And our biggest priority is doing whatever we can to service our customers better.

Creative problem solving

When your products and challenges are unique, you need a CNC machine designed to fit your exact processes. And sometimes, you need to think outside of the box to do that. Because we’re U.S.-based and have an extensive library of successful solutions, we can customize machines in ways others can’t, or won’t, imagine.

Respect

Treating people well isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s crucial to our business. We’re proud to have a long list of employees
with tenures over 20 years.

History

1988. Northwood Machine got our start industrializing manual woodworking equipment to make it stronger and more reliable.

1991. We built our first CNC machine and began a new era at the company.

2003. Following an upswing in the stone industry, we launched our first stone router. Over the next few years, we added our sawjet and FabCenter to the lineup.

2008. Aerospace, composites and other advanced materials took off.

Today. As our markets and customer lists grow, we’re developing new equipment — like our dual processing and five-axis machines — and pushing the envelope of what’s possible in fabrication.
