Iron Horse Roller Hold Down
The Iron Horse Roller Hold Down is a three-axis roller hold down machining center. Our roller hold downs have led the market for years, and we’ve upgraded the spindle, as well as increased the design’s rigidity for the Iron Horse RHD.
Designed for plywood reel and plywood upholstery frame furniture manufacturers, the Iron Horse Roller Hold Down prioritizes speed. Because plywood is a lower grade material intended for mass production, rigid construction with premium components is crucial. The CNC machine uses both a vacuum and a roller assist to generate more downward force and achieve the fastest cutting rates in the industry.
The Iron Horse Roller Hold Down is available as a single or twin table. The twin table configuration eliminates idle machine time by allowing loading and unloading on one table while the machine cuts parts on the other.
Both 4-foot rollers and 5-foot rollers are available.
Add-ons include a 20-position automatic tool changer, sweepers with automated sweep cycles for dust management, a rollerball material handling system (also called a transfer system) and a 5-line or 9-line drill bank. Both drill banks are small enough to fit in our standard roller spacing and can carry different drill sizes without needing an automatic tool changer.
Every Northwood CNC machine features precision FANUC servo controls, automatic oil lubrication, a year-long subscription to Northwood LIVE and lifetime service and support from U.S.-based technicians.
