Iron Horse XL 5
The Iron Horse XL 5 is a five-axis CNC machining center with a moving gantry. This fixed table machine also has a large work envelope, designed for processing large or heavy parts for composite and aerospace applications.
Meet tight tolerances with precision on big, heavy parts. The Iron Horse XL 5 offers all the complex processing capabilities of a 5-axis CNC machining center with a large work envelope. Cut big parts or set up multiple custom fixtures inside the work zone to increase your changeover efficiency.
The base size is 15-feet by 8-feet, but is customizable up to 60 feet. All Iron Horse XL 5 machines have upgraded 31i-B5 FANUC controls for improved accuracy and linear encoders for direct feedback.
Spindles start at 15 kW and go up to 65 kW, depending on your needs. Other variations include a flood coolant or a roof bellow system to contain dust, as well as a shuttle table/pallet changer material handling system. The high-torque spindle with optional through-tool coolant, dual exterior high- and low-pressure flood halos, and an air curtain barrier improve feed rates and help contain airborne particles.
To control contamination and provide a physical safety barrier during operation, Iron Horse XL 5 CNC machining centers are normally enclosed on all four sides.
